Why wear a sauna hat?

Heat rises, so your head and ears sit in the hottest air in the room. A wool felt hat insulates them, which most people find makes the heat more comfortable. Read what a sauna hat does (and doesn't).

Do sauna hats protect your hair?

A hat keeps your hair covered and out of the direct heat. There's no direct research on sauna hats and hair yet, so we won't overpromise, but if you'd rather keep your hair covered, a hat is the simplest way to do it.

Wool or felt: what's the difference?

Felt is wool fibre pressed and matted together. Look for 100% wool felt: some cheap "felt" hats are synthetic, and synthetic fibre doesn't behave like wool in high heat.

How do I care for my sauna hat?

Hang it to dry after every session so it stays fresh and holds its shape.
